Entering the
Holy of Holies

The Holy of Holies is the most sacred place in the universe. Through the righteousness of Jesus Christians can enter into the Holy of Holies which is the very presence of God. Hebrews 4:10 "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Approaching God

Holy of Holies - Trusting in Jesus We must understand that we are coming before Him through the righteousness of Christ and not of our own. The veil of the Temple was rent from top to bottom upon Jesus death. Hebrews 10:20 "By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh." Thereby the way has been made for all men and women to enter into the Holiest of Holies through the shed blood of Christ, and come boldly before the throne. Hebrews 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

We must realize that nothing unclean is permitted in the Holy of Holies and only the blood of Jesus can cleanse us from all sin. We are not to come before him ridden with guilt. Psalms 66:18 says "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me." When we come to him in prayer we should ask Him for forgiveness for anything we think would be sin in our life. Thereafter we should consider ourselves cleansed from all sin and have total faith that our prayers will be heard.

Enter With Thanksgiving

Psalms 100:4 offers a scriptural manner in which we should approach God. "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise." (It does not say by praise or by thanksgiving) Actually we should maintain an attitude of thanksgiving and praise at all times. In this way we can come to the Holy of Holies, the very Throne of God at any time to commune with Him. We should speak to Him with an attitude of reverence an awe because He is God!
