According to the "World English Dictionary" Salvation in Christianity means, "deliverance by redemption from the power of sin and from it"s penalties." Theologically, Salvation can mean, "to be delivered from sin and death, saved from the wrath of God, and to receive the gift of everlasting life."
The need for Salvation dates all the way back to the "Garden of Eden" when, due to the original sin and damnation of Adam and Eve, all of mankind was separated from God. Jesus' death on the cross makes it possible for any individual to end that terrible separation, and to attain the promise of eternal life.
Needless to say with over 600 denominational churches there are conflicting doctrines, teachings, and confusion. The purpose of these articles of salvation information is to clearly understand the work of the original writers in an effort to grasp their exact meaning.
